Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions represent the agreement concerning the provision of an Airport Transfer, Local or Long Distance Service (”Service“) between you and Coastal Taxis. When you fill in the booking form and use the service you are effectively consenting to accept unconditionally the terms and conditions set out in this agreement.
Any changes you seek to the terms or conditions shall have no effect unless Coastal Taxis Ltd give you a written agreement to the changes.
Coastal Taxis is a taxi and private hire company and works with its clients to provide the end user a safe and reliable transport method. If you need a receipt for the cost of your journey, which has been paid by cash, you can obtain one from the driver, although the driver is self-employed and therefore any receipt as provided will not be inclusive of VAT or have the VAT added.
Definitions
“Coastal Taxis ” means Coastal Taxis Ltd., company number 03546062, registered in UK, whose registered office is 2 Fairhope Avenue, Morecambe, Lancs, LA4 6JZ.
Bookings
Coastal Taxis will send you a quotation for your journey based on the information you provide. If you change your mind about the itinerary, number of passengers, or type of vehicle you need, then Coastal Taxis reserve the right to amend the quotation.
Airport and Seaport Transfers:
When you book an airport or seaport transfer, you must allow sufficient time to allow for check-in times specified by your airline or shipping company, and for any delays that traffic conditions may cause If you or your passengers are not ready at the booked time, or if you haven’t allowed enough time to reach the airport or seaport, Coastal Taxis shall not be responsible for any delay.
Remember to allow for luggage and order a suitable car size for the number of passengers and all of their luggage. Coastal Taxis cannot guarantee to carry excessive amounts of luggage. Please remember to include every child, no matter how young, as one passenger.
Please let us know if you need to transport any special items, including wheelchairs and prams, when you book.
Coastal Taxis will always check for flight delays before the driver leaves for the airport but can only rely on the information supplied by the Airport Websites.
We will send your quotation by email. Please check the booking confirmation carefully and let us know right away if there are any errors or if we have missed anything out. Coastal Taxis shall not be responsible for any delays caused or costs arising if you fail to provide Coastal Taxis with correct and complete information.
You will be responsible for paying car parking charges when we collect you, unless we agree a different arrangement in advance.
Payments should normally be made by cash to the driver, unless you have agreed alternative with Coastal Cars Ltd before your journey.
If you need a full receipt we will send you one by email or your driver can give you a handwritten one on a business card. Please be aware it can take up to 48 hours to send you an email receipt.
Account Work
If you have an account with Coastal Taxis, we will work with you to make sure that we meet your requirements.
Coastal Taxis will invoice account customers after journeys are complete and invoices are due for payment 30 days from the date of the invoice.
Coastal Taxis quote prices to account customers exclusive of VAT, which is added at the prevailing rate at the date of the invoice.
The Service ‘Vehicle Conduct’
When you book a journey with us, we ask you to be responsible for the behaviour of all the passengers in the vehicle during the whole of the journey. If any passenger soils the vehicle, we will charge you at least £40.00 to cover cleaning costs and loss of use of the vehicle.
In the interests of the comfort and safety of all our passengers, Coastal Taxis do not permit eating, drinking or smoking in our vehicles. If you need to feed a baby or a passenger needs to take food or drink for medical reasons, you must let us know in advance and we will make an exception.
We do not allow smoking in any of our vehicles.
Safety is our first concern and we insist that all children be restrained securely in their seats. If children are too small for normal seatbelts then the children’s parents or guardian must supply suitable child seats. The driver can hold these for you if you have booked a return journey with Coastal Taxis.
You must let us know in advance how many passengers we will be carrying so that we can be sure to provide the right vehicle. Coastal Taxis will never carry more passengers than our insurance or licensing allows in any vehicle.
Cancellations and Bookings
If you need to cancel your booking please contact Coastal Taxis as soon as possible. All cancellations made before the booking time will not incur a penalty charge. Coastal Taxis reserves the right to deduct 10% from the pre-paid fare when refunding the amount to you. In exceptional circumstances, a penalty of up to 50% of the fare can be levied for late cancellations.
If you have not pre-paid your airport transfer booking, and you cancel shortly before departure, we will send you an invoice. You must pay the invoice within 30 days to avoid a surcharge of 10% of the original amount
The time stipulated for payment shall be of the essence of the Agreement. Failure to pay within the period specified shall entitle us to write to you and upon the expiration of seven days notice, to charge you for costs and expenses incurred in recovering late payments, and to charge interest at the rate then in force pursuant to the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 as at the due date or on the above rate whichever is the greater.
Coastal Taxis recommends phoning us on our contact number to cancel with the telephone staff.
Liability
We will always do our best to get you where you want to be, when you need to be there. We have no control over road conditions, weather or traffic and so Coastal Taxis shall not be liable for any loss due to delays caused by road conditions, traffic or any circumstances beyond our control. Coastal Taxis shall not be liable for any loss of profits or business or for any indirect or consequential loss whatsoever that arises from a delayed journey.
Coastal Taxis shall use all reasonable endeavours to get you to your destination on time, but shall not be liable for any loss due to delays caused by road or traffic conditions beyond its control on the journey. Under no circumstances shall Coastal Taxis be liable for any loss of profits, business or for any indirect or consequential loss whatever. Coastal Taxis aims to run a reliable service for you, but sometimes cars cannot arrive at time of booking due to reasons beyond our control. If the car is running late, please contact the control immediately for an update.
All luggage is carried entirely at your own risk. Our office will keep lost property for a period of 4 weeks before being disposing of it.
Coastal Taxi is entitled to cancel all services and provide up to 100% of the refunds (within 7 Days of the original booking date), in the event of circumstances beyond their control. If a car breaks down during the journey, Coastal Taxis will provide an alternative with a practical time allowance.
You shall indemnify Coastal Taxis against all losses, costs, damages and expenses arising from any act or omission of any passenger in your party.
Coastal Taxis Limited acts as an agent for clients of self-employed drivers, and will pass information relating to the customer in order to assist with the safe and timely pick-up. Coastal Taxis cannot be held responsible for the misuse of this information by its clients, or subsequent drivers, that are beyond its control.
Neither party excludes or limits its liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for wilful default or fraudulent misrepresentation, or otherwise in any manner unenforceable by any applicable law.
Termination
Coastal Taxis does not tolerate violent or abusive behaviour, or behaviour that is likely to endager its passengers, drivers or the public. If you, or any member of your party, behaves in a manner likely to put anyone at risk, we will refuse or terminate the booking. The driver may stop the car as soon as it is safe and ask you and your passengers to get out of the vehicle.
We will not give refunds for journeys that have to be terminated in these circumstances.
Company rights and powers
Coastal Taxis may change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. Please review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes. All existing bookings will be at the rate quoted or applicable rate in effect at the time of booking.
Coastal Taxis reserves the right to change the rules or instructions concerning the use of any part of the service from time to time.
Coastal Taxis reserves the right to change the service, suspend it temporarily, in the interest of quality of service, communication failure or part interest of other customers.
Customer Service
If you need to talk to us about any issues arising from your journey, please contact the control team on 424 424 and they will try to resolve your problem immediately. If you need to talk to our management team, leave your contact details with the controller and we will get in touch within 24 hours.
Disputes
In the unlikely event of an event of a dispute arising, you must give notice within 21 days of the invoice date. If the company does not receive any such notification the customer shall accept the amount as being properly due and shall not be entitled to dispute this sum.
